Migrates voicemail boxes for more than two million fixed line and mobile customers
Telefonica O2 Czech Republic, a provider of fixed and mobile services, has selected Alcatel-Lucent to support the launch of a range of next-generation messaging services for its subscribers.
According to Alcatel-Lucent, Telefonica O2's mobile and fixed customers will be able to access a range of services in addition to traditional voice mail services. Using a web-based interface, customers can choose how and when they receive their messages; the service supports Czech, Slovak and English languages.
As part of a five-year contract, which includes project management, software integration, deployment and maintenance, Alcatel-Lucent has migrated voicemail boxes for 2.2 million fixed line and mobile customers. A key feature of this mailbox migration has been the movement of user greetings, announcements and personal options for all subscribers from legacy systems to the new, converged infrastructure, all while ensuring an uninterrupted and better transition for Telefonica O2's subscribers, said Alcatel-Lucent.
For the project Alcatel-Lucent said that it is supplying its 5100 Converged Messaging System, an IP-based platform that supports next-generation converged IP messaging, basic voice mail and unified messaging services, the 5150 Messaging Applications Broker platform enables subscribers choices on how, when and where to be notified and receive messages and the 5155 WebDesk, which enables subscribers to manage their personal options from their desktop.
