Radius Infratel signs new contract with Ericsson

To provide high-speed broadband access across India with Ericsson's EDA 1500 GPON

Radius Infratel has signed a new agreement with Ericsson to provide high-speed broadband access across India with Ericsson's EDA 1500 GPON (Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Networks) system and passive fiber portfolio.

The company said that using EDA 1500 GPON in its communication platform enables it to provide building services, such as parking management, access control, automated lighting, and security services through a single integrated infrastructure.

H Singh, managing director of Radius Infratel, said: "Ericsson's GPON solution has enabled our Neutral Access Network Operation (NANO) concept that facilitates various operators in delivering their bandwidth rich applications like IPTV, multimedia contents etc and accommodates various building management and home automation services."

Radius Infratel claims that consumers will be able to enjoy internet speeds of up to 100Mbps, IPTV and the most bandwidth-intensive entertainment available from multiple operator on single fiber reaching to their home.

The company said that the contract also includes systems integration, consulting, training and support services for Radius Infratel.
