EDX Wireless teams with Qualcomm to support MediaFLO services

EDX Wireless, a provider of carrier-class RF planning tools, has teamed with Qualcomm, a supplier of CDMA chipsets, to provide specialized propagation studies to MediaFLO service operators.

The studies are used in planning the placement of MediaFLO network base stations transmitting real-time multicasting of video, audio and data streams to MediaFLO-enabled mobile devices.

Under the agreement, EDX will distribute and provide support for the specialized studies, which will be made available to MediaFLO service operators as additional features to EDX's carrier-class wireless network planning tool, EDX SignalPro, for a fully integrated network planning tool solution.
